About Us
Silver Living was founded with the vision of making it easier to find and research senior living options. The Silver Living team has devoted themselves to making it less stressful for families to find just the right community. We are proud to present our extensive research on senior living communities complete with high quality, honest photography. Our research is 100% free to use.
Silver Living's co-founders are two long-time friends who met while studying Computer Science at Cornell University.
Tal has worn many hats since graduating from Cornell, and has always worked with a social impact. While serving as an Air Force Officer he supported joint relief efforts for the Indian Ocean tsunami, and later led GE's New Orleans humanitarian relief after Hurricane Katrina. Also at GE, Tal led merger and acquisition deals for renewable energy technologies. Most recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Sopogy, Inc., a solar research and development company.
Tal first began thinking critically about the senior living industry after personally discovering how difficult it was to research senior care. He relocated his family to the New York area to start Silver Living. In addition to his Bachelors of Science from Cornell, he studied Graduate Meteorology at Texas A&M, and has an MBA from the Shidler College of Business.
After graduating from Cornell, Mike started his career as a developer on the Microsoft Office team. He spent a few years writing super-secret code for Raytheon's missile defense systems, and he has worked for startups in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York City. Most recently he was the VP of Engineering for Oyster.com, an online hotel review site. As Silver Living's CTO, he is responsible for product management and engineering of the site.
Mike enjoys working on products that help people solve difficult problems. He started Silver Living to build something that can give families an important tool to guide them through a difficult time in their lives. He lives on the banks of the Hudson River in New Jersey with his wife Christine and their baby boy.
